Physical Rubber prices witness firmness on Saturday

Physical Rubber prices showed firmness on Saturday due to renewed demand from tyre-makers and domestic stockists. However, expectation of a rise in India's natural rubber production, trimmed some gains. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety jumped to 148/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 146/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety gained Rs 145/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 143/ kg.

In the futures market, June delivery rose to Rs 156.80 compared to its previous closing of Rs 152.33, while July delivery was at Rs 155.07 compared to its previous close of Rs 149.90 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
