Most of the Asian equity benchmarks are trading in red in early deals on Friday as US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet on Saturday at the G-20 summit in Osaka, Japan. Japanese Nikkei is trading lower with cyclical shares sliding on profit-taking before the weekend. Among the other Asian markets, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, South Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan, are trading lower.However, Malaysia is in positive territory.
Nikkei 225 down 83.98 points or 0.39% to 21,254.19, Straits Times dip 4.47 points or 0.13% to 3,324.13, Hang Seng retreat 161.01 points or 0.56% to 28,460.41.Taiwan Weighted lower 38.56 points or 0.36% to 10,735.34, KOSPI Index diminish 3.75 points or 0.18% to 2,130.57, Shanghai was decreases by 26.44 points 0.89% to 3,002.72, Jakarta Composite contract by 0.52 points or 0.01% to 6,352.19.
On the flip side, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI up 0.29 points or 0.02% to 1,672.99.
