Sonia Gandhi calls Assam violence, unacceptable

Congress President Sonia Gandhi while addressing in a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) on today, called the ethnic violence in Assam as unacceptable and said that no government can ignore such treacherous activities and pitched for strictest possible action against those who targeted people from the northeast. 

Congress President further insisted to take the strictest possible action against those who deliberately seek to divide us, incite and provoke people by their incendiary speeches and aggressive actions through the misuse of social media for their hate-mongering, causing havoc and spreading mass panic. Along with this, efforts should be made to ensure that people still living in camps return to their homes as quickly as possible, she added.

However, she expressed her gladness on the one voice of Lokshaba on their behalf, targeting of the North East people in other parts of the country to protect the constitutional rights to study, work and live in any part of our country with complete safety and security.
