India’s exports of oilmeals slip 56% in June: SEA

The Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA) in its latest report has stated that India’s total export of oilmeals for the month of June stood at 1,14,972 tonnes, recording a fall of 56% over 2,63,163 tonnes recorded in the June 2018 as shipments of soymeal and rapeseed plunged. Besides, the overall export during April-June 2019 was reported at 5,71,325 tonnes, down nearly 24% over the7,51,158 tonnes in comparable period last year. However, the export of castorseed meal increased to 153,596 tonnes in June mainly exported to South Korea.

According to the data, South Korea, France, Vietnam are the major importers of oilmeals during April-June 2019. Vietnam imported 88,055 tonnes of oilmeals. South Korea imported 247,363 tonnes and Thailand imported 68,166 tonnes of oilmeals.

Besides, port-wise, the export from Kandla is reported at 224,427 tonnes (39%), followed by Mundra handled 183,518 tonnes (32%), and Mumbai including JNPT handled 36,281 tonnes (6%) and Kolkata handled 51,263 tonnes (9%) and Others Ports handled 75,836 tonnes (13%).
