Suzlon Energy slips on failing to make bond payment of $172 million

Suzlon Energy is currently trading at Rs. 4.34, down by -0.12 points or 2.69% from its previous closing of Rs. 4.46 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 4.43 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 4.45 and Rs. 4.32 respectively. So far 798816 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 8.69 on 25-Jul-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2.70 on 05-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 5.15 and Rs. 4.26 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2308.78 crore.

Suzlon Energy has defaulted on a payment of $172 million worth of principal amount related to outstanding bonds. The company is working on a holistic solution for its debt and continues to be in discussions with various stakeholders in relation to its outstanding debt, including the bonds. The outstanding principal amount of $172 million was part of a bond issue of $546.91 million.
