Ambuja Cements reports 4% fall in cement production in August

Ambuja Cements reported a fall of 3.95% in August 2012 cement production at 1.460 million tonnes from 1.520 million tonnes of August 2011. Meanwhile, the company’s dispatches were at 1.450 million tonnes compared with 1.485 million tonnes, registering a decline of 2.36%.

For January-August 2012 period, cement production and dispatches were 14.825 million tonnes and 14.822 million tonnes respectively, compared with 13.978 million tonnes and 13.936 million tonnes respectively in the corresponding period last year.

In the last decade the company has grown tenfold. The total cement capacity of the company is 18.5 million tones. Its plants are some of the most efficient in the world. With environment protection measures that are on par with the finest in the developed world.
