MRPL temporary shuts down refinery unit in Karnataka

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals’ (MRPL) refinery has been affected by a minor landslide as an aftermath of the intensified monsoon in Dakshina Kannada District in state of Karnataka. Hence, as a precautionary measure the company has structured shutdown of the Phase-III process units of the refinery to access the condition of the facilities in the vicinity and for immediate stabilization.

The Phase-I and Phase-II of the complex as well as the product dispatch facilities remain unaffected and are operating normally.

MRPL is engaged in the business of refining crude oil. It offers high speed diesel oil, fuel oil and motor spirit. It operates as a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.
