JSW Steel reports 15% growth in crude steel production in August’12

JSW Steel’s crude steel production for August 2012 increased by 15% at 7.63 lakh tonnes against 6.64 lakh tonnes in August 2011. The steel maker has reported the production of rolled products - flat at 5.14 lakh tonnes an increase by 6% on year on year basis and that of rolled long products at 1.48 lakh tonnes, an increase of 19%.

The company has achieved crude steel production of 35.82 lakh tonnes in the first five months of current financial year, showing a growth of 22% over the corresponding period of last year.

JSW Steel is part of the JSW group which, in turn, is a part of the O P Jindal group. JSW Steel is one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in India having units in Karnataka and Maharashtra producing crude steel, long steel and flat steel products.
