Coal India surges on entering into MOUs with Russian entities

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 190.45, up by 8.35 points or 4.59% from its previous closing of Rs. 182.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 184.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 196.25 and Rs. 183.80 respectively. So far 818185 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 288.30 on 29-Oct-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 177.80 on 22-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 196.25 and Rs. 179.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 118170.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.96%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.38% and 2.66% respectively.

Coal India has entered into memorandum of understandings (MOUs) with two Russian entities in the areas of coking coal mining.

The MoU with Far Eastern Mining Company (FEMC), Russia is to form a joint working group in order to explore, identify, source, deliberate, negotiate and consummate mutually beneficial investment opportunities in the mining sector in the Russian Far East.

Besides, the MoU with Far Eastern Agency for Attracting Investments and Supporting Exports (FEAAISE) is to cooperate in their activities for mining coking coal in the Russian Far East and Arctic Region.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
