Pramod Kumar Mishra becomes PM Modi's new principal secretary

Pramod Kumar Mishra has been appointed as the new principal secretary to Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi. Mishra, a retired 1972-batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer, took over his new assignment on September 11, 2019.

Mishra was the additional principal secretary to the prime minister and was holding the rank of a Cabinet minister. As Additional Principal Secretary to the prime minister between 2014 and 2019, Mishra is credited with introducing innovative and transformative changes in human resource management, particularly appointments to senior positions.

Recently, Nripendra Misra had stepped down as the principal secretary to the prime minister. Modi had asked him to continue for two weeks.
