Nalco moves up on reporting 33% rise in Q1 net profit

National Aluminium Company (Nalco) is currently trading at Rs 64.60, up by 0.15 points or 0.23% from its previous closing of Rs 64.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 66.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs 66.40 and Rs 64.25 respectively. So far 19081 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 120.38 on 14-Mar-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 62.70 on 09-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 68.00 and Rs 62.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 16610.30 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 87.15% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.59% and 3.27% respectively.

National Aluminium Company (Nalco) has reported unaudited results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 surged by 32.67% at Rs 376.84 crore as compared to Rs 284.05 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income increased by 35.15% at Rs 1889.10 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1397.81 crore for the same quarter last year.

Nalco has Asia's largest integrated aluminium complex, encompassing bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, rail and port operations.
