30 Sep 2019 Evaluate

Bond yields edged lower on Monday, as government is expected to release its borrowing plan for the second half of the financial year.

In the global market, US Treasury yield curve steepened on Friday afternoon following reports that President Donald Trump’s administration is considering delisting Chinese companies from U.S. stock exchanges, a source briefed on the matter said. Furthermore, Oil prices edged higher, rebounding from a two-week low in the previous session, although gains were checked by concerns about the outlook for the global economy.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 4 basis point lower at 6.69% from its previous close of 6.73% on Friday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading flat at its previous close at 6.50% on Friday.
