Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has inked an agreement for end-to-end ICT solution worth Rs 103 crore for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in West Bengal. After successfully implementing TCS MGNREGS solution in 1,098 mandals of 22 districts in Andhra Pradesh, the software major is anticipating to replicate the same in West Bengal.
After implementation of the solution in West Bengal state, the company would provide a 5-year support to the system. Besides, it would offer extensive experience in e-governance and a framework for MGNREGS.
The company will begin the pilot project from South 24 Parganas district and would gradually extend it to all 18 districts of the West Bengal state. Further, this 100 days employment programme would get a boost in the state with modernization and transparency.
