India’s groundnut production likely to rise by around 36% in 2019-20: SEA

15 Oct 2019 Evaluate

Industry body Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) in its latest report has stated that India’s groundnut production is likely to increase by around 36% to 51.0 lakh tones during kharif season of 2019-20 against 37.3 lakh tones last year.

This will be mainly on the back of ample output in Gujarat in this Kharif season. Gujarat contribution is likely to be 32.1 lakh tones - nearly double than last year’s output of 15.9 lakh tones. The area under cultivation has increased to 15.5 lakh hectares from 14.6 lakh hectares in 2018-19.
