Coal India’s supply of coal to power sector declines by 7% in April-September

Coal India’s (CIL) supply of coal to the power sector has declined by 7 percent to 218.4 million tonnes (MT) in the April-September period of 2019-20. This comes amid the Maharatna firm recently stating it was ensuring smooth supply to power plants. Fuel supply by the company in the year-ago period was 235 MT. 

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
