Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Monday

Most of the Asian equity benchmarks are trading higher on Monday, as the upbeat US job data bolstered global investors’ appetite for riskier assets. Growing optimism over US-China trade talks aimed for defusing a nearly 16-month-long trade war, also lifted the market sentiments. Japan's Nikkei is closed for a holiday. Among the Asian markets, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Shanghai and Malaysia are in positive note.  Bucking the trend, Indonesia is reading lower. 

Straits Times up 4.15 points or 0.13% to 3,233.58, Hang Seng increased 347.48 points or 1.28% to 27,448.24, Taiwan Weighted rose 136.91 points or 1.20% to 11,536.44, KOSPI Index widened 26.37 points or 1.26% to 2,126.57, Shanghai rose 22.23 points 0.75% to 2,980.43 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI enlarged 4.35 points or 0.27% to 1,597.69.

On the flip side, Jakarta Composite declined by 8.26 points or 0.13% to 6,198.93.
