Reliance Communications (RCOM) is currently trading at Rs. 77.65, up by 0.25 points or 0.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 77.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 78.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 79.00 and Rs. 76.65 respectively. So far 1,60,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 188.50 on 14-Oct-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 74.65 on 07-Mar-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 89.00 and Rs. 76.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16,027.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.86% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.32% and 14.22% respectively.

RCOM, India’s second-biggest mobile carrier has increased call charges by 20% from 1 paisa to 1.2 paise per second for both GSM and CDMA services in most of its operating circles. The company has hiked the call tariff due to inflationary pressure in the country.

In case of GSM services, the hike has been for calls made within Reliance’s network and on other networks. For CDMA services, the hike is only for calls made to the network of other telecom companies.

Earlier in this month, telecom players namely Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular, increased their tariffs by a minimum of 20%.
