Physical rubber prices flare up on Monday

Physical rubber prices recorded sharp gains on Monday after remaining closed in weakened session owing to strike in the state, filling the wide gap between the domestic futures on the NMCE.

Spot prices for RSS-4 variety continued to improve to Rs 195/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 185/ kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 186/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 180/ kg.

In the futures market, contract of October delivery slipped to Rs 193.52 compared to its previous close of Rs 194.17, while November delivery closed at Rs 192.75 compared to its previous closing of Rs 193 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
