Bond yields traded lower on Tuesday, ahead of state debt auction, while traders await clarity on the fiscal position.

In the global market, US long-dated Treasury yields fell to two-week lows on Monday, after a report triggered fresh doubts about a trade deal between the United States and China. Furthermore, US oil prices fell for the second straight day amid market jitters over limited progress between China and the United States on rolling back trade tariffs, exacerbated by a rise in US inventories.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.47% from its previous close of 6.48% on Monday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 2 basis points lower at 6.28% from its previous close of 6.30% on Monday.
