The Government has given approval for sale of its 53.2% stake in Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL). But, this will not include BPCL’s 61% stake in Numalighar Refinery in Assam.

BPCL is into exploration, production and retailing of petroleum and petrol related products. The retail business unit of BPCL is into marketing of petrol, diesel and kerosene.
