Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Friday

Most of the Asian equity benchmarks are trading higher on Friday, following positive cues from Wall Street overnight. However, gains were limited with conflicting signals from Washington and Beijing prolonged uncertainty about a trade deal. Japan's Nikkei is in positive trend, with major exporters higher despite a stronger yen. Among the Asian markets, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, Shanghai, and Malaysia are in positive trend. Bucking the trend, Singapore, and Taiwan is easing.

Nikkei 225 up 58.22 points 0.25% to 23,358.31, Hang Seng lifted 172.75 points or 0.66% to 26,389.79, KOSPI Index widened 17.38 points or 0.84 % to 2,078.12, Jakarta Composite jumped by 10.82 points or 0.18% to 6,162.94, Shanghai enlarged 0.50 points or 0.02% to 2,899.97 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI increased by 3.12 points or 0.20% to 1,566.70

On the flip side, Straits Times down 0.92 points or 0.03% to 3,173.27 and Taiwan Weighted decreased 15.64 points or 0.13% to 11,579.01.
