BPCL to start 2G ethanol bio-refinery in Odisha

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) is planning to start its second generation (2G) ethanol bio-refinery at Odisha’s district by December 2020. The project will have an investment of Rs 10 billion. The refinery project will come up on 58 acres of land and have got the environmental clearance.

The bio-refinery will have a capacity to produce 30 million litres of the fuel grade annually using rice straw as feedstock and the produced from the plant will be blended with petrol.

BPCL is into exploration, production and retailing of petroleum and petrol related products. The retail business unit of BPCL is into marketing of petrol, diesel and kerosene.
