JSW Steel declines on reporting 7% fall in crude steel production in November

JSW Steel is currently trading at Rs. 255.75, down by 3.00 points or 1.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 258.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 257.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 259.00 and Rs. 254.50 respectively. So far 298458 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 313.40 on 02-May-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 201.90 on 29-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 264.00 and Rs. 247.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 61542.43 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.40%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.18% and 35.42% respectively.

JSW Steel’s crude steel production declined 7 percent to 12.90 lakh tonne (LT) during November 2019. The company had produced 13.90 LT crude steel in November 2018. During the month, the production of flat rolled products fell 1 percent to 9.09 LT as against 9.15 LT in November 2018.

The company registered 14 percent fall in production of its long rolled products at 2.99 LT as compared to the year-ago month when it stood at 3.48 LT.

JSW Steel is one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in India having units in Karnataka and Maharashtra producing crude steel, long steel and flat steel products.
