Coal India’s arm aims coal production of 115MT by FY24

Coal India’s subsidiary -- Northern Coalfields is aiming coal production of 115 million tonnes (MT) by 2023-24, while planning to focus on offtake by railways, instead of roads, to meet environmental obligations. Northern Coalfields with the highest growth of 9 per cent transports 17 million tonnes of coal per annum by trucks.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
