Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro 3D, the metal additive manufacturing business of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, to design, develop, test, manufacture, and repair of aerospace components using metal additive technology.
The initiative will focus on development, prove out and production of aerospace applications including MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) using metal additive manufacturing. Prove-outs and certification of components developed using metal 3D printing is also a key element of this cooperation.
HAL is Bengaluru based Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSU) Company engaged in the design, development, manufacture, repair, overhaul, upgrade and servicing of a wide range of products including, aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, avionics, accessories and aerospace structures.
