Astra Microwave in demand as L&T Capital acquires 9.72% stake

Astra Microwave is currently trading at Rs. 45.55, up by 3.65 points or 8.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 41.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 42.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 49.60 and Rs. 41.60 respectively. So far 10, 85,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 49.60 on 26- Sep- 12 and a 52 week low of Rs. 25.15 on 28-Sep-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 49.60 and Rs. 41.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 372 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 19.41% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 4.47% and 76.11% respectively.

L&T Capital has acquired 79.5 lakh equity shares constituting 9.72% stake in Astra Microwave Products through open market transaction.

As of June 2012, L&T Capital Company held 9.72% in the company. Strategic Ventures Fund (Mauritius), Skanda Aerospace, Reliance Capital Trustee and Reliance Capital along with other three investors held 34.35% stake. Promoters held 19.41% stake in the company.

Astra Microwave Products is engaged in designing and manufacturing of radio frequency (RF) and microwave super components and sub-systems that are used in areas of defence, space and civil communication systems. Presently company’s products are used in VSAT operations, radars, navigational equipment, public mobile trunk radio (PMTR), WLL, cellular GSM/DCS or PCS networks.
