Coal India soars on reporting 14.2% rise in production in February

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 172.75, up by 4.50 points or 2.67% from its previous closing of Rs. 168.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 172.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 174.70 and Rs. 171.50 respectively. So far 35039 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 270.90 on 06-Jun-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 165.00 on 18-Feb-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 179.30 and Rs. 166.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 103687.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.05%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.06% and 2.82% respectively.

Coal India has reported rise in its production by 14.2% to 66.26 million tonnes in February 2020. The production in the same month a year ago stood at 58.05 million tonnes. Coal offtake during February too increased by 6.8% to 54.97 million tonnes as compared with 51.46 million tonnes in the year-ago month. 

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
