President returns back from kashmir, says situation is improving

Satisfied with the situation of Jammu and Kashmir, President Pranab Mukherjee reached back after his two days visit to the valley along with Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abduallah. In the convocation address, acknowledging the grievances he promised to ensure every Kashmiri lives with dignity. 

He also pointed out that both state and Central governments is doing its best to ensure that people in the state are living with dignity, having equal rights and equal opportunities. Meetings and discussions were carried out by him on variety of issues with a large number of groups including Fruit Growers Association, Saffron Growers Association, Artisan Association, led by JKPCC president Saifuddin Soz, Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee and Jammu and Kashmir Pahadi Association. Moreover, President, got impressed with the performance of girls, who constituted 85 percent of the recipients of merit awards, he had given at the convocation of the Kashmir University in Srinagar on Thursday. 

On the last day of his visit, on Thursday night, the president insisted vice chancellors and educationists to imbibe Rabindranath Tagore’s spirit of universalism and pluralism not only just to achieve high standards but also maintain them on a sustained basis.
