Coal India surges as its arm on track to meet production, dispatch targets

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 159.85, up by 1.90 points or 1.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 157.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 159.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 160.65 and Rs. 157.00 respectively. So far 39324 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 270.90 on 06-Jun-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 157.00 on 09-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 180.40 and Rs. 157.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 97340.29 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.05%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.06% and 2.82% respectively.

Coal India’s subsidiary -- Northern Coalfields (NCL) is on track to meet its production and dispatch target of 106.25 million tonne each in the current fiscal. On March 07, 2020, the company has hit 100-million-tonne mark for coal production and dispatch each for the current fiscal.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
