Kirloskar Ferrous Industries commissions coke oven plant

Kirloskar Ferrous Industries has commissioned operations of the Coke Oven Plant on March 31, 2020 and the production of coke has started at the factory premises in Koppal District, Karnataka. Since the process of heating the ovens had started earlier, the Management of company has decided that commissioning of the plant was the safer option.

The company has been adhering to from time to time recommended precautions against the COVID-19 and directives issued by the Government of India and State Governments, to ensure safety and well-being of employees involved.

Coke is a major raw material required for production of Pig Iron. Presently, Coke is procured by way of imports as well as from domestic market. After commissioning of the Plant, dependency on imported coke will be reduced.
