Suzlon Energy in jubilant mood on bagging repeat order from IOC

Suzlon Energy is currently trading at Rs 38.65, up by 1.55 points or 4.18% from its previous closing of Rs 37.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 37.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs 39.30 and Rs 37.50 respectively. So far 3668868 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 66.30 on 01-Nov-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs 36.65 on 17-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 43.20 and Rs 36.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 6816.20 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.84% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.28% and 26.62% respectively.

Suzlon Energy, the world’s fifth largest and India’s largest wind turbine maker has bagged its second order from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), a Maharatna PSU and Fortune 500 company, to set up, operate and maintain wind energy projects of 48.3 MW in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The order comprises of 23 units of Suzlon’s 588 - 2.1 MW wind turbines, and the power generated will be sold to the local power utility.

Indian Oil Corporation is India’s flagship national oil company and ranked 98th in the Fortune 'Global 500' listing for the year 2010. The energy major has placed strong focus on sustainable energy solutions, with an emphasis on exploring and diversifying into alternative energy sources, including wind.

The Corporation's first foray into wind - a 21 MW wind project in the Kutch district of Gujarat, and also built by Suzlon - came on line in January 2009. This project earned the distinction of being one of the quickest commissioned among large wind projects in the country. The project has been submitted for registration under the CDM mechanism for carbon credits, to be followed by the Andhra Pradesh project.

Suzlon energy is leader in wind energy in the India, which is world’s fifth largest wind energy market. Its business model has range of services that include development, manufacturing, marketing, EPC project delivery and operations and maintenance of wind turbine generators around the world.
