HIL rises on planning to supply 25 tonnes of pesticides to Iran

HIL is currently trading at Rs. 825.15, up by 33.45 points or 4.23% from its previous closing of Rs. 791.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 817.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 846.00 and Rs. 814.90 respectively. So far 996 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2030.00 on 27-May-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 497.15 on 24-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 846.00 and Rs. 781.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 617.35 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 40.91%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.86% and 45.24% respectively.

HIL is planning to supply 25 tonnes of pesticides to Iran to control locust. The External Affairs ministry has approached the company for manufacturing and supply of this commodity to Iran.

Despite logistics and other challenges posed by COVID-19 lockdown, HIL, a PSU under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertlizers, ensured timely production and supply of pesticides for farming community.  The company has exported 10 tonnes of fungicide Mancozeb to Latin American country Peru and another 12 tonnes will be exported in the next one week.

HIL is a leading player in asbestos cement sheet (ACS) for roofing, from which it derives 70 per cent of its revenue at present.
