Wipro touches roof on signing agreement to acquire Brazil-based IVIA Servicos de Informatica Ltda

Wipro is locked at upper circuit limit at Rs. 258.80, up by 33.75 points or 15.00% from its previous closing of Rs. 225.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 237.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 258.80 and Rs. 233.80 respectively. So far 1273301 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 276.10 on 01-Aug-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 159.60 on 19-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 258.80 and Rs. 219.45 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 128603.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.02%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.45% and 8.06% respectively.

Wipro has signed an agreement to acquire Brazil-based IVIA Servicos de Informatica Ltda, a specialized IT Services provider to Financial Services, Retail and Manufacturing sectors in Brazil. IVIA's local talent and long-standing relationships, combined with Wipro's global expertise, will help expand the information technology firm's geographical footprint in Brazil.

The acquisition will also help Wipro set up delivery centres in the northeast of Brazil leveraging IVIA's workforce. The purchase consideration was $22.4 million (about Rs 169 crore), and the transaction is expected to be completed during the quarter ending September 30, 2020.
