Bond yields traded flat on Wednesday with private report that economic activity continues to remain weak and will lead to a 6.1 percent contraction in India's GDP in the current fiscal.

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields headed lower on Tuesday despite mostly higher stocks, as markets focused on negotiations over new federal aid to boost the coronavirus-hit economy. Furthermore, oil prices fell as industry data showed a bigger- than-expected inventory build in the United States where coronavirus cases continue to climb, potentially further denting demand in the world's biggest oil consumer.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading flat with its previous close of 5.82% on Tuesday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 1 basis point higher at 4.94% from its previous close of 4.93% on Tuesday.
