During the current kharif marketing season more than 6.21 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived so far in various mandis of Haryana state which shows the trend that arrival has picked up as harvesting progresses. Out of the total arrival of 6.21 lakh tonnes of paddy, over 2.13 lakh tonnes has arrived in Kurukshetra district which accounts for maximum quantity procured.
Similarly, the district of Karnal received over 1.77 lakh tones of paddy while Kaithal district received over 1.15 lakh tonnes and Ambala accounted for 59,615 tonnes. Also, Yamunanagar accounted for 25,817 tonnes, Panchkula 14,911 tonnes, Fatehabad 6,608 tonnes, Sirsa 3,729 tonnes, Panipat 3,709 tonnes, Sonepat 572 tonnes and Jind 546 tonnes of paddy arrival.
Besides, out of the total arrival of 6.21 lakh tonnes of paddy, six government agencies have procured 5.94 lakh tonnes of paddy while the remaining has been procured by millers which accounted for 27,261 tonnes.
Of the government agencies, Food and Supplies Department have procured over 261,758 tonnes whereas HAFED has purchased 165,262 tonnes and Haryana Agro Industries Corporation purchased 100,133 tonnes. Also, Haryana Warehousing Corporation and CONFED purchased 31,682 tonnes and 35,206 tonnes of paddy respectively.
