DB Corp to postpone its entry in Bihar

09 Oct 2012 Evaluate

DB Corp, which prints and publishes newspaper in four languages across 13 Indian states, is likely to postpone its entry in Bihar by at least a year because of fewer revenues from advertisements. It is planning to go for small launches in Maharashtra at Akola, Amravati and Latur if there is any improvement in the advertising revenue market.

The company has an advertising centric revenue model with average cover prices being the lowest among peers. However, cover prices have been marginally increased in selective markets such as Haryana, Chhattisgarh and a few regions of Madhya Pradesh where the scope for further penetration is limited.

DB Corp is the only media conglomerate that enjoys a leadership position in multiple states, in multiple languages and is a dominant player in its all major markets. The company’s other business interests also span the radio segment through the brand - MY FM - radio station with presence in 7 states and 17 cities and a strong online presence in internet portals.
