NMDC falls after getting nod to demerge Chhattisgarh steel plant

NMDC is currently trading at Rs. 97.80, down by 9.70 points or 9.02% from its previous closing of Rs. 107.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 106.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 106.00 and Rs. 96.10 respectively. So far 1307799 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 139.50 on 23-Jan-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 62.00 on 13-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 108.90 and Rs. 93.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29715.25 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.65%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.78% and 4.58% respectively.

NMDC has received approval to the proposal to demerge its upcoming three million tonne per annum capacity steel plant in Chhattisgarh. The Board of Directors of the company at their meeting held on August 27, 2020, inter-alia, have accorded in-principle approval to the proposal to demerge its NMDC Ironand Steel Plant (NISP), Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh.

NMDC is a state controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
