Physical Rubber prices showed some firmness on Saturday due to improved demand against ongoing supply crunch in the market. Rubber prices also remained firm on expectations of a revival in global demand. The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries said global consumption is expected to increase 2.6 percent on-year in August-October. Rubber prices were unavailable on Monday as key markets in Kerala were shut on account of Onam.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety gained to 136/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 135/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety remained unchanged at Rs 131/kg.
