Coromandel International surges on acquiring 50% stake in CSQM

Coromandel International is currently trading at Rs. 817.80, up by 22.00 points or 2.76% from its previous closing of Rs. 795.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 803.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 818.70 and Rs. 794.00 respectively. So far 9584 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 829.85 on 27-Jul-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 355.00 on 26-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 824.50 and Rs. 717.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23382.80 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 59.60%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.54% and 14.86% respectively.

Coromandel International has acquired 50,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each constituting 50% of the total share capital of Coromandel SQM India (CSQM) - a joint venture between the Company and SQM, for a consideration of Rs 12 crore. Consequently, CSQM has now become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.

Coromandel International is engaged in the manufacturing of fertilizers, plant protection chemicals and speciality nutrients.
