RCF starts production at Methanol Plant in Mumbai

Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) has started the production at its Methanol Plant at Trombay Unit, Mumbai from September 8, 2020 and this is a step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. With Methanol production, the company shall no longer be dependent on imports for its own requirement and will also be in a position to satisfy the needs of other Methanol dependent industries. Methanol is widely being used in the production of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyestuff etc. With very limited domestic production, the requirement was being met till now with imports.

The Company has entered into the selected list of Methanol producers in the country, providing alternate to import and thus contributing towards Government's ambitious ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Abhiyaan.

RCF, a Government of India Undertaking is a leading fertilizer and chemical manufacturing company with about 80% of its equity held by the Government of India. The company manufactures Urea, Complex Fertilizers, Biofertilizers, Micronutrients, 100 percent water soluble fertilizers, soil conditioners and a wide range of Industrial Chemicals.
