Copper futures ended lower on Thursday as traders turned cautious ahead of a news conference by the European Central Bank (ECB). Further, data from US Labor Department showed that the number of Americans filing for unemployment claims remained high, suggesting a labor market recovery from the corona virus pandemic stalled, too added pressure on commodity prices.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.0530 to settle at $2.9985 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.97% at $6,668.50 a ton.
