Deccan Chronicle Holdings’ (DHCL), Indian Premier League (IPL) team Deccan Chargers is set to be sold to real estate firm Kamla Landmarc Real Estate Holdings for an undisclosed sum. The company’s board of directors in meeting held on October 11, where it decided to sell, transfer or dispose of the Deccan Chargers Franchise business undertaking, business division of the company to Kamla Landmarc Real Estate Holdings.
Deccan Chronicle group in 2008 had acquired the franchise - Deccan Chargers for $107 million which represents the city of Hyderabad in the IPL. The team after finishing last in the first season of the IPL, won the second season held in South Africa in 2009, under the captaincy of former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist. Gilchrist was the captain of the team for the first three seasons of the IPL.
