Copper futures end lower on weak Chinese demand

06 Oct 2020 Evaluate

Copper futures ended lower on Monday due to signs of weakening demand from world’s top metal consumer China. Though, positive reports of improvement in US President Donald Trump’s health after he was hospitalized with the corona virus capped some losses.

Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0145 to settle at $2.9630 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.37% at $ 6,528.50 a ton.
