Oil India gains on starting exploring for oil and gas in Andaman Sea

Oil India is currently trading at Rs. 89.35, up by 0.70 points or 0.79% from its previous closing of Rs. 88.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 90.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 90.90 and Rs. 88.80 respectively. So far 7749 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 174.80 on 18-Oct-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 66.00 on 13-Mar-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 95.00 and Rs. 85.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9689.16 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.66%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.96% and 17.39% respectively.

Oil India has started exploring for oil and gas in the Andaman Sea. It has begun acquiring seismic data on the shallow water blocks AN-OSHP-2018/1 and AN-OSHP-2018/2, which the company had won in the third round of open acreage licensing policy. The results of the seismic survey would help the firm decide on drilling of wells on the block that could yield oil and gas.
