Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals’ maize processing unit in Phagwara in Punjab is all set to start its operations from third week of October, 2020. Initially, the unit will run at lower capacity and it will increase its production as the Covid situation unfolds going forward.
The company’s oldest unit, operating at Phagwara will close down most of its manufacturing facilities from the October 15, 2020 and its remaining (about 10-15%) operations will be fully wound up in about 3 months time. This unit has smallest capacity amongst all units of the company and has come in the centre of the town with commercial activities all round making inward / outward movement of material difficult besides other operational problems with adverse effect on the viability of the unit.
Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals is the only multi locational group in India. The company has also diversified into the textile sector.
