In keeping with its commitment to empower young women, Tata Steel has successfully organised the 4th edition of its pioneering scholarship programme ‘Women Of Mettle’ with the first-ever virtual finale held on October 13, 2020. Every year, this competition is conducted with much fanfare and female engineering students from premier institutes across the country look forward to participating and giving a head start to their career.
This year, in view of the pandemic situation, the competition was re-designed to leverage the virtual platforms. The programme received record registrations from 600 plus second year female engineering students from over 50 premier engineering institutes across India, including the IITs, NITs and the likes.
Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 company.
