JSW Steel declines on reporting 38% fall in Q2 consolidated net profit

JSW Steel is currently trading at Rs. 308.05, down by 13.00 points or 4.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 321.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 318.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 318.70 and Rs. 306.30 respectively. So far 216863 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 327.15 on 23-Oct-2020 and a 52 week low of Rs. 132.50 on 03-Apr-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 327.15 and Rs. 306.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 74728.37 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 44.07%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.69% and 36.23% respectively.

JSW Steel has reported 42% fall in its net profit of Rs 1,692 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2020 as against net profit of Rs 2,917 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased 7.89% at Rs 16,948 crore for Q2FY21 as compared Rs 15,708 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported 37.77% fall in its net profit attributable to owners at Rs 1,593 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2020 as against net profit of Rs 2,560 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 9.52% at Rs 19,416 crore for Q2FY21 as compared Rs 17,728 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
