A senior Haryana IAS officer at the Centre is in a furious argument after he was transferred in the wake of his decision to probe alleged undervaluation of properties dealt with by Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. On his last day in the office on Monday, Khemka cancelled the mutation of the Rs 58 crore worth plot of land citing irregularities in the transfer of land from Vadra's Sky Light Hospitality Private Limited to the real estate giant and has alleged that there was a deliberate attempt to punish him.

The marching order for Khmeka comes at a time when the country was still digesting the allegations made by India Against Corruption led by Arvind Kejriwal. During his 50-day stint in the Haryana government's Land Registration department, Khemka had detected serious irregularities in land transactions involving transfer of panchayat land worth several hundred crores of rupees to newly created real estate companies.

However, Haryana IAS officer had on October 13 charged that the state government has abruptly transferring him, the 43rd in his career, as a punishment for acting as a whistle-blower in several dubious land transactions. Reacting to the news, Kejriwal demanded the state government to explain the turn of events i.e. on the transfer of Ashok Khemka and criticized on the probing of Vadra's land deals in Haryana.
