Wipro, Infosys and Cipla to see some action today

Wipro has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Encore Theme Technologies (Encore Theme), a specialist in providing SaaS and Cloud solutions in financial services. Over the past decade, Encore Theme - headquartered in Chennai, India - has focused exclusively on implementing a broad suite of Trade Finance solutions, developed by Finastra, one of the world’s largest fintechs, to financial institutions across the Middle East, Africa, India and Asia Pacific. They have successfully delivered more than 75 large scale Finastra Trade Finance projects for banks across these regions.

Infosys has completed the acquisition of Blue Acorn iCi, an Adobe Platinum partner in the US, and a leader in digital customer experience, commerce and analytics. This follows the announcement the company made on October 08, 2020. This acquisition further strengthens Infosys’ end-to-end customer experience offerings and demonstrates its continued commitment to help clients navigate their digital transformation journey.

Cipla has launched antibody detection kits for COVID-19 in India under the brand name 'ELIFast' in partnership with KARWA, under the technology transfer from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). As part of the collaborative effort, the company will be responsible for the marketing and distribution of the SARS CoV-2-IgG antibody detection ELISA that will be manufactured by KARWA. ICMR has provided the requisite technological know-how and process for developing the test kits to the approved manufacturers.

State Bank of India (SBI) has signed an agreement with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for a loan worth $1 billion (around Rs 7,403 crore). Of the total loan amount, $600 million will be financed by JBIC and $400 million by other participating banks - SMBC, MUFG Bank, Mizuho Bank, Shizuoka Bank and Bank of Yokahama.  JBIC will provide a guarantee for the portion co-financed by the participating banks. The loan is intended to promote smooth flow of funds for the whole range of business operations of Japanese automobile manufacturers in India.

HSIL is planning to invest Rs 320 crore to set up a new speciality glass manufacturing facility in Telangana and raise production capacity of its plastic business facility. The company would invest Rs 220 crore in AGI Glaspac to manufacture specialty glass and the greenfield (new) facility will be operational by the end of September 2022. Besides, it will invest Rs 100 crore in their plastic pipes and fittings solution business to increase the production capacity at the Sangareddy, Telangana plant. 

Godrej Industries has raised Rs 750 crore through Rated, listed, unsecured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures (NCDs) and allotted 7500 NCDs having face value of Rs 10,00,000 each to the Identified Investors as approved by the Committee on October 26, 2020. The board of directors at its meeting held on October 28, 2020 has approved and allotted the same.

Salasar Techno Engineering has received order worth Rs 10.56 crore for Design, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of 25kv AC single phase OHE in connection with yard remodeling at pratapgarh & Janghai Station of Lucknow Divison, Northern Railway.
