Gold futures ended lower on Thursday, retraced with some profit booking and as the bullion investments dulled with the now perceived safe-haven dollar investments amid the mounting worries over spiking covid cases in the United States and Europe, potential restrictive measures and on pre-election jitters. Besides, better than expected third quarter US economic data also weighed on yellow metal investments.
Gold futures for December delivery settled lower $11.20, or 0.6% at $1,868.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold was down $6.90, or 0.4%, at $1,870.17 per ounce.
